Phase II Sludge Landfill Cap

The Work includes the cap and closure of the Phase II Sludge landfill cell, including tie into the Phase I residual cell. The Phase II landfill is approximately 5 acres in total, and is lined with a 40-mil HDPE liner. Closure construction will consist of reshaping the landfill surface, installation of the landfill capping system consisting of (top-to-bottom) an 8” topsoil layer, a 12” coarse sand drainage layer, a 40-mil textured HDPE layer, and a 6” gas venting sand layer; installation of a vegetative layer with drainage swales, passive gas piping and vents; installation of an access road and installation of a gas monitoring well.
